When a person experiences phases of elevated moods &
depressive periods he/she is known to be bipolar. Bipolar disorder, as research
says, is not a rare disorder and is more common than expected. Bipolar people
are likely to face issues in their personal & work lives leading to risks
of facing possibilities of being single and being less productive at work.
However, with the willpower to get better and with the help of a life and
leadership coach such people can almost lead a normal life. Research also
suggests that 2/3 of people with bipolar disorder have at least one close
relative with bipolar/unipolar depression. This shows that the disease has a
heritable component.

Bipolar disorder affects work life as equally as it affects
relationships, in order for a bipolar person to succeed in their work life they
need to disclose their issue to their supervisor in order to gain some
understanding and take responsibilities depending on current mood. In order for
partners to support their bipolar partner they need to know if their suffering
partner is willing to improve their condition and whether he/she is not a risk to his/her partner’s life. Partners need to be
patient and should try and attend life coaching sessions along with their
partners to boost their self-confidence. To treat this issue bipolar people
along with spouses should visit clinical and educational psychologists.
